MY 5 SUMMER SHOE SHOPPING TIPS FEATURING PURCADO

And now for the many faces of my shoe shopping experience…

Oooo cute shoes…

OMG, I need these shoes…

Okay, it’s official, I’m getting these shoes…

Uh, wait, do I really need these…

Let me calculate…

Okay, add to cart, SCORE!
How was my acting, LOL? Okay, back to our regularly scheduled programming…

It’s finally blazing hot in NC so I guess that means it’s time to feature some of my fave summer shoe finds so far. Currently, digging block heels, fun colors and prints, and of course, you gotta have a basic nude that goes with everything. Still searching for perfect summer shoes? Here are 5 tips to get you started:

1. CHECK YOUR SHOE STASH
I always see what my closet has to offer before I go out and buy shoes I really don’t need. If you have a perfect nude pair at home, there is no need to go in search of another.

2. CHECK YOUR WARDROBE
Take a few mental notes of the summer clothes you have and then take the shoe hunt. It’ll be so much easier to get shoes when you know what clothes you have to pair them with. Plan ahead so you can avoid the dreaded returns.

3. CHECK YOUR CALENDAR
It’s wedding season ya’ll and you know what that means, new shoes! Figure out what big events you have coming up then go shoe shopping. No need in buying a whole bunch of shoes that you can’t wear to all the upcoming weddings, graduations, summer parties, cookouts, beach trips etc…. Shop smarter not harder ladies and gentlemen. Think about it this way, your busy summer schedule, 1, it’s an excuse to go shopping and 2, a girl can never have enough funky wedding shoes that can also be worn to a fun summer soiree.

4. DONATE /TRADE IN
Now if your like me, you probably have way more shoes than necessary. Every year around this time I visit my local Goodwill or trade in my gently used shoes for money. This is a great way to give back and declutter or make space for more cute shoes. However you roll, it’s always a nice feeling to pass on shoes to someone else who will enjoy them too.

5. FIND THE BEST DEALS
So, the only thing worse than being a shoe addict is finding out you can get better deals on shoes than you thought. I’m excited to share that I’ve partnered with Purcado to bring you these good deals! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to SHOE SHOP, NOW, WITH PURCADO! For those who don’t know what or who Purcado is, allow me to fill you in. Purcado is one of the best search tools used to find your favorite shoe brands at unbelievable prices. It’s as simple as search, compare and save! Literally, overwhelmed by the number of retailers available to shop from. Not that I need anymore shoes, but I have my eye on a few pairs that I searched on the site already and thought it wouldn’t be kind of me to not to spread the love your way.

Hope my summer shoe shopping tips were helpful!

Till next time.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

FLORIDA VIBES

We made it! Yep, I said it, we made it to vacation and now were back, just like that. We spent a week in Orlando, Florida and it was literally the fastest week of my entire life. Vacations are like that sometimes, huh? I was able to snap a few shots of my Florida looks though. Between visiting tons of amusement parks and pressing my way through the last bit of spring classes, I’m pooped. Not to mention, Charles and I were editing graduation pics for clients all week too. #thestruggleissoreal.

I hit it big at the Southern Women’s show a few weeks back and racked up on some of the cutest thrifted pieces, including this chartreuse tunic top I’m rocking in my pics. I love me some chartreuse, and this color is so fitting for the warmer weather coming our way in NC. I’m also no stranger to a fun, comfy, colorful sandals. I’ll be rocking these orange numbers all summer along with the green pair I purchased sometime last year from K&G Fashion. Anyone else already rocking their white denim? I get so bored of blue denim, so I can hardly wait to wear my white bottoms.

I’ll be sharing deets on my pageant later this week. In the meantime, shop my shoes and at the links above!

Hope you have a good week.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

SOUTHERN WOMEN’S SHOW 2018

For those who haven’t seen my IG post, I walked the catwalk for the annual Southern Women’s Show this past weekend. This was my second time strutting my stuff on the runway. I had some pretty amazing looks to model, and now I want to buy every piece of jewelry and clothing I modeled this past weekend. Note to self, modeling in fashion shows doesn’t help with my shopping addiction. Anyway, thought I’d showcase some of the looks from this weekend. Hope you enjoy! As part of my pageant duties, I was also able to do some volunteering for the Southern Women’s show as well. One of my favorite parts of being affiliated with the Mrs. Full Figured North Carolina Pageant #MSFFNC18 is the plethora of opportunities to support and uplift my community. More on my local community service efforts to come in later post!

Interested in any of the jewelry you saw? All jewelry pieces were designed by my pageant director, Purusha Jones, of Authentically You. Please contact me for more deets on that. All African attire can be purchased at IyasoCreations.com.

Looking forward to sharing more on my pageant adventures in the coming weeks. This journey is getting off to a good start and I’ve met some pretty amazing women who are doing some pretty amazing things to change their communities and change the perception of what it means to be full figured. Curves are beautiful, and you can still be healthy and confident at any size. The women I’ve connected with have awakened a confidence in me that I didn’t know was there. I beginning to love myself and appreciate everything that is me. Connect yourself to people who are about self love and body positivity, because it’s amazing how that energy with transform you, believe me, it spreads like wildfire!

Till next time beautiful people!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
