VINTAGE HOLIDAY REMIX

I’ve been in bed for the past few days watching sappy love movies and eating really bad snack food, so looking at these pics for this post is now motivating me to get up and wash this mop of mine and get a workout in to avoid gaining any holiday break weight before my trip to Hawaii. I’m also realizing I haven’t shared any post about my vintage finds lately. The cute blue jacket I’m rocking in this post is from the Durham Rescue Mission. This is the spot to find 80’s and 90’s clothing to give you just the right vibe of vintage nostalgia. I’ve had a lot of people ask what thrift and vintage stores I shop so I’m dedicating this post to a list of my past fav and some new shops I’ve been buying from lately. To those who are just tuning in to the CCC blog, I’m an avid vintage and thrift store clothing shopper. A large percentage of my wardrobe is thrifted, consignment and vintage finds from all over. I’ve incorporated this into my personal style over the past few years for the simple fact that I love finding rare pieces you can’t find anywhere else and also because I’m a big supporter of sustainable fashion and making sustainable fashion decisions. With that being said, you’ll often find me rocking a newer piece remixed with vintage pieces I’ve picked on my travels, online or here in the Raleigh-Durham area. One of the main messages that I want to send to my readers is that fashion can be fun, affordable and reusable. With that being said, I’ve listed some of my fav vintage shops from online and in the local area. Hope you’re able to stop by and support these businesses and remix your wardrobe a little.

1 SWEATER, 5 FUN WAYS

Fall has been in full effect for a while now, but I’m just now realizing I did not feature nearly as many fall looks on the blog this year so, here you have it, 1 fun sweater styled 5 different ways for the business casual in me, the trendy chic girl in me, the Olivia Pope in me, the quirky weird chick in me, and the simple, sweet and innocent  lady in me. For those who have been following along for quite some time, know my style is not really all that consistent, I wear what feels good to me and I dress according to mood. It’s not my style to put myself in a box. Yes, I have my favorite things (vintage clothing finds, and bright colors) but, I’m so much more than that and always try to incorporate my favorite things into any look I rock. I’m not the perfect shape and don’t want to be, but one of my goals for this blog is to show that you don’t have to be the “the perfect size” to look and feel stylish and the other is to promote clothing reuse in an effort to reduce the amount of items going in and out of thrift stores and to support sustainable fashion. Lastly, I feel it’s important to simply dress how you feel, and use your clothing to make a statement, after all, before you speak, your clothes speak for you, might as well let them say how you feel. On that note, check out how I styled my fave mustard yellow sweater 5 fun ways.

Trendy chic with a little rocker girl inspo

The Olivia Pope. This girl means business. Thank you Mr. President 😉

This one is for my quirky, eccentric peeps, we prefer to be outside the box.

And let’s give it up for my simple, sweet, and innocent ladies. Always cute, but never too much or too little.

I’m all about recycling clothing. Keep your money in your pocket and rework the classic items you already have in your closet. For those who want to know how I make it look like I don’t wear the same thing twice, ladies and gentlemen, this is how. Perhaps you’d never wear any of these looks, but I guess that’s why it’s my style. Simply put, I challenge you to find your go-to clothing pieces and style them 5 different ways for the week, challenge yourself to rework the items you already have and feel free to drop a comment in the comment box about your go-to style piece and how you rock it. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Till next time!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

NEW ACCESSORIES WITH CIVION

Like I promised in my last post, I’m getting myself organized for Fall. I was able to get ready quickly for this shoot because my fall clothes were out and organized. It’s amazing how much time you save you prep like a boss! Anyway, after a very long wait, my jewelry from Civion has finally arrived and I’m able showcase the beautiful, classic pieces on the blog.

Allow me to drop an honesty bomb on you. I don’t wear necklaces like that. Sometimes I feel they take away from my crazy tops and outfits I wear often and they can be quite irritating on my neck, but my new gold tiered necklace from Civion has me thinking I shouldn’t write off necklaces from my accessory collection anymore. I’m loving every jewelry piece in their shop. The pieces are simple, classic chic with a little twist. I love that they have almost all their pieces in a gold and silver too. I always get the urge to wear necklaces and earrings together but feel it looks too bulky and looks like I over accessorized, but the simplicity of these pieces really makes for an effortlessly classic look that you can pretty much pull off with any fall outfit.

Keep reading for more deets not on my Civion pieces and how I styled this look with these pieces.

I’m itching for fall to actually makes it arrival in NC because I’m ready to wear my corduroy mini skirts without getting the side eye. While I patiently wait for the weather to cooperate with my fall outfit ideas, peep this simple, classic look I put together for the transition to fall. The white Calvin Klein button up is a fall fav of mine that I found sifting through the clothing racks of a local thrift and my button up plaid mini skirt is from Charlotte Russe fall collection which you can find here. To complete my look, I added my Civion Cali Necklace, and fish earrings. Check out how I’ve styled my silver drop earrings with this look as well. I can’t wait to share some more fall looks with you.

Oh almost forgot, before I go, I wanted to share a special gift with you all. If you’re digging my jewelry pieces as much as I am, head on over to civion.store and use code: DEIDRA25 to get 25% off your Civion purchase, tell them Deidra sent you ;).

Okay, last thing, I swear, this week is pageant week so stay tuned for all my pageant looks and all the crazy stories.

Till next time everybody!

Sincerely,

Deidra Craig
