MANE CHOICE REVIEW

Okay, so you know I’m a product junkie, right? And if you read this blog often you also know that I’ve been detoxing, trying to stay clean, and I’ve been good staying on the straight and narrow till about last week when I ran out of leave in condish. I confess, I relapsed and all thanks to Mane Choice. Ask me if I’m guilty, cause I’m not! Definitely one of the best Target runs I’ve made in awhile. I swear I only went into Target with the intention of picking up some leave-in conditioner and kitty liter for my rascals (Tux & Lincoln) but you guys totally know how it is when you go into Target for two things and come out with an iPad, bedroom set with comforter, 5 bathing suits and a pack of tic tacs (all supposedly 50% off). Sad, I know. In any case, I did leave out with the following Mane Choice products.

These products are officially a game changer. Literally went home and started packing all of my other products up. Its been a tough journey trying to find a shampoo my hair actually likes that cleanses without striping the hair. It has also been awhile since I’ve found a deep conditioner that actually penetrates my dense strands. Now, I don’t want to get all excited about a product I’ve used approximately 2 times but its been a long time coming so SUE ME. I have a few products that always stay in rotation, but I’m officially adding Mane Choice to the holy grail of product lines till further notice for the following reasons:

– Thick creamy consistency
– Reasonably priced
– Great for detangling my dense, kinky hair
– No drying agents
– Accessible at most major retailers
– Strengthens my hair
– Great for styling
– Makes my hair incredibly soft and smooth

I typically give a product line about a month or so to really see how it’s improving the health of my hair so I’ll be back with some updates. Happy Thursday!

MEMORIAL DAY IN ASHEVILLE, NC

When in Asheville, hike until your legs fall off, and that ladies and gentlemen is exactly what we did. This was our first visit to the NC mountains, and I must say, this place is absolutely breathtaking! It kind of reminded me of Saint Lucia with all the uphill winding roads, but instead of lush green hanging palm trees, it was covered in pine trees, such green pine trees might I add. We stopped at two very cool museums while we were there; a folk art museum and the museum at Grandfather Mountain. I’m not gonna even lie, I  have a huge fear of heights so this was definitely taking a BIG step out on faith to hike up this mountain, but I think I’ve conquered my fear. In all honesty, it’s not so much the heights I’m fearful of as it is the falling to my death. Not to be morbid or anything, but I’d much prefer to go out a different way, perhaps a peaceful sleep near the beach or something, LOL. In any case, I did not fall off a cliff, and Charlie and I made it about halfway up the mountain, success in my eyes. He was a little disappointed, but we simply couldn’t walk anymore, our legs were about to give in and we weren’t looking forward to a 4 hour drive back to the city. Guess what? We drove 4 hours back to the city, made it home about 8:30ish, just enough time to catch an episode on Netflix.
