HOLIDAY TRAVEL AND POLKA DOT VIBES

And just like that, Christmas is over and I’m not ashamed to say that I’m happy about it. As much I love hanging with family and friends and having some down time it’s also the perfect opportunity to over eat and subject myself to awful unnecessary shopping. I literally have one more gift to buy for a friend and that is the end of visiting these crazy over crowded shopping centers for a while. Don’t get me wrong, I love the holidays, but I also love to see it go so people can start acting normal again and stop bombarding the store lines. God I love a short store line, LOL. I also love online shopping too, 😂 but for some reason I always talk myself into going into a mall or shopping center during the holiday for some crazy reason. I guess it’s because my mom, baby sis and I are avid shoppers and love the rush we get from finding a good deal I suppose. In any case, more than anything, I loved hanging with my family and my in-laws. Charles and I have been so crazy busy this year that trips to see them have been far, few and in-between, so to be able to spend time with them was truly a blessing.

.

On the way to grandma and grandpa’s house we ran into the most decorative house in Monroe and I just had to stop and get a few pics for the blog. I know nothing about this house and can’t for the life of me remember the name of it so, if you’re native to Monroe, NC and have any clue, drop the name of this house in the comment box because it’s driving me nuts that I don’t remember; I think it starts with  the letter “B” but again, I have no earthly idea, grrr. Easy my suffering and help an ole girl figure this thing out, LOL.

Keep a scrolling good peoples and check out all the pics of this stellar property…

Needless to say, the only thing I could think of was how long it would take to take down all the holiday decor from this property. This is also pretty much what I think about when I get make-up caked all over my face for pageant stuff, LOL, for those wondering why most of my post consist of either a little make-up or none at all. FYI, I have nothing on in these pics #sorrynotsorry, I’m on vacay and just using my energy towards enjoying the fam and friends. I promise I’ll get my life together before pageant day #scouts-honor. Anyway, I’ll be posting a few more outfits from this month and ending the year of 2018 blogpost with one New Year’s look for ya so stay tuned. What a year this has been. Can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. We do know first things first, our trip to Hawaii, can’t wait to post content about this!

Till next time!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

VINTAGE HOLIDAY REMIX

I’ve been in bed for the past few days watching sappy love movies and eating really bad snack food, so looking at these pics for this post is now motivating me to get up and wash this mop of mine and get a workout in to avoid gaining any holiday break weight before my trip to Hawaii. I’m also realizing I haven’t shared any post about my vintage finds lately. The cute blue jacket I’m rocking in this post is from the Durham Rescue Mission. This is the spot to find 80’s and 90’s clothing to give you just the right vibe of vintage nostalgia. I’ve had a lot of people ask what thrift and vintage stores I shop so I’m dedicating this post to a list of my past fav and some new shops I’ve been buying from lately. To those who are just tuning in to the CCC blog, I’m an avid vintage and thrift store clothing shopper. A large percentage of my wardrobe is thrifted, consignment and vintage finds from all over. I’ve incorporated this into my personal style over the past few years for the simple fact that I love finding rare pieces you can’t find anywhere else and also because I’m a big supporter of sustainable fashion and making sustainable fashion decisions. With that being said, you’ll often find me rocking a newer piece remixed with vintage pieces I’ve picked on my travels, online or here in the Raleigh-Durham area. One of the main messages that I want to send to my readers is that fashion can be fun, affordable and reusable. With that being said, I’ve listed some of my fav vintage shops from online and in the local area. Hope you’re able to stop by and support these businesses and remix your wardrobe a little.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS…

For those who don’t know, I’ve been receiving some of the most amazing beauty products from Oui Fresh. I receive a one month supply beauty box of some the best lipsticks, oils, hair conditioners, shampoos, nail polish and lip glosses. There are more, but way too many to name. For all the deets on how to get started with your OuiFresh subscription to receive beauty boxes every month, check them out here. In this month’s beauty box I received some super fun lip glosses and this awesome “Babe With The Power” tee. The lippy I’m wearing in the pics is called Sabrina. This is one of two beauty boxes I’ll be receiving for December. Getting these gifts gets me all giddy and warm and fuzzy inside and has got me thinking about what I want for Christmas. Have you all got your Christmas list together? I have a few things on my mind, but I usually don’t know what I want until it’s too late and Christmas has passed. I am however, on top of things this year and gathered a list of a few things that I want and why. You should check it out!  Oh by the way, link to this fun holiday inspired look is listed below.

ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH

Apparently, according to my dentist, I’m brushing too hard, so I gotta take it easy on the chompers and he said I should get an electric toothbrush. Any suggestions? This will be my first one. Drop your suggestions in the comment box below. It will be much appreciated.

HAIR STEAMER

I’ve been wanting one of these since FOREVER and I think I’m finally going to take that leap and purchase one. They have amazing benefits for your overall hair health and help retain moisture in your hair which, as you know, with this mop, is a PLUS.

151b and 20lb DUMBBELLS

I’m trying to up my fitness routine and the 5lb and 10lb dumbbells are little too light now since I’m getting stronger and more fit. That being said, I usually purchase my dumbbells from Walmart or Target for my at home strength training workouts. Here’s hoping I see these under the tree this year.

INSTAPOT

Word on the street is that this baby cooks your beans and other food at lightning fast rates. I  have all the cooking responsibilities in our household so an instapot would make my life so much easier. Right after I get off work, I start cooking and while the food is slow cooking, Charles and I usually go for a run around the neighborhood or do some type of strength training in the living room, but if I could cook things faster, I wouldn’t have to worry about checking in on the food during our workout sessions.

SATCHEL/CROSS BODY PURSE

Don’t get me wrong, I love my ginormous purses, but on days where I’m roaming around the city doing random stuff with Charles, I want something I can just throw over my body that’s light-weight, but still big enough to carry all the random stuff you’d find in my purse (i.e. lotion, hand sanitizer, make-up, my library card and mountains of return receipts, LOL 😂)

So, there you have it ladies and gentlemen, my 2018 Christmas wish list. It’s pretty simple if you ask me. Here’s hoping all my Christmas dreams come true.

Tell me, what’s on your Christmas list this year? Comment below what you have your eye on and I’m hoping and praying you  see what you’re looking for under the tree this year.

Till next time.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
