NAUTICAL LOOK WITH TALBOTS

Top | Shoes

Totally crushing on this red and white stripe knit top from Talbots. I’ve been on the hunt for a nautical inspired top with a cool but subtle feature. Obviously my favorite thing about this top is the darling pom pom sleeves. I paired it with some clear sunnies, white denim and some open toe mules I purchased from DSW at the beginning of spring. White denim is currently in rotation until further notice, and so is this top. I always grab a few things from Talbots because their pieces are great for work and play. The outfit featured in this post is perfectly fine for work if I add a white blazer. Talbots pieces are always classic, never go out of style, and is great quality fabric that last for years. One of the major struggles that I had when shopping for clothes was finding pieces that were playful and youthful, but still work appropriate; this top is a great mix of the three. I can still layer this top with a blazer or a cute scarf for work or wear it with some fun white denim or a regular blue denim for a date night. Work clothes don’t have to be boring and life is too short for a boring closet. Shop this look at the links above. Now I’m on the hunt for a cute white maxi. Any ideas?
By the way, just a heads up, this cute stripe top is currently 30% off at talbots.com, now that’s a good way to start off the week, huh?
Happy Monday everyone!
Sincerely,
Deidra Marie

DENIM DRESS WITH ESHAKTI

I put together one of the cutest Memorial Day looks for this weekend and I’m super excited to have teamed up with eShakti for their #RealFashionForRealPeople campaign to do it! Denim has always been a fav of mine, and I’m no stranger to a simple denim dress with quirky details. The best part about denim is that you can practically pair it with anything.  I have denim tops, denim pants, denim skirts, but there is nothing like a simple denim dress to slip on when your on the go. For this look, I kept it real simple, and paired it with my cognac heels, red lippy and a red bandana to give it sort of a vintage vibe. Some other ideas to really elevate the look, and style the dress would be to add a scarf or layer it with a jacket, perhaps a lighter wash denim jacket. Denim on denim is a big trend right now. I’ve worn this dress 3 or 4 times already and have dressed it down with some all white low top Chuck Taylor’s, and have dressed it up with bright colored blazers and fun, edgy shoes. The shoulders of the dress have a 80’s vintage feel that I just love, so styling this dress with big hair and fun bright colors is a must!

If you haven’t shopped eShakti before, I highly suggest checking them out! Aside from the many stylish clothing options they offer on their site, you can customize your item to your fit. Take your measurements, plug them into your order, and even customize the sleeve and length of your item; best part, your item is customized to your height at no additional charge. Now, I know you didn’t think I only had my eye on one dress, shop these other eShakti looks I’m swooning over for this summer below.

POLKA DOT ROMPER

I’ve always loved the vintage look. I tell my mom all the time that I should’ve been born in the 1970’s, my favorite decade by the way. This navy blue polka dot romper is something out of the 1950’s, also a decade I just LOVE. I like pairing these simple pieces with just a pop of color. Bright colors make my day and add a little something extra to an otherwise dull outfit. Shockingly, I’m not really a big fan of navy, I don’t really think this color does much for me, but I couldn’t resist this romper, and would have bought it in any color because I love polka dots. I got these shots while we were in Daytona beach about a month ago. I’ll be wearing this romper a few times this summer and mix and match it with a few bright colored blazers, accessories, and shoes. I have some bright colored belts I could definitely add to this romper that might add some flare to it as well. The options are limitless because navy blue goes with so many different colors. Stay tuned for pics on how I style this cute little romper. Wondering where I got this romper from, huh? Well, it’s currently on major sale right now at American Eagle ae.com. I’ve linked it above for you to shop. I’ve linked a somewhat similar wedge at the top for you to shop as well. Happy Sunday!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
