VINTAGE LOOK WITH eShakti

I’m in love with something cherry red and white. Bet you didn’t guess it’s this amazing vintage dress. I was having a bit of a Dorthy Dandridge from Carmen Jones moment in this dress and was dying to share all the deets on this little red and white number from eShakti.com

I couldn’t wait to slip this dress on and strut my stuff around town. I added a touch of red lipstick, cute t-strap heels and oversized pearl earrings to play up this fun and flirty look. I was a bit reluctant about the red lipstick because it’s such a bold color to wear on your lips, but I figured this dress was a statement and thought my make-up should be too, so I just went for it. I had fun playing this look up, but aside from the fun of getting all dolled up for my night out with the hubby, I was pleased with my overall shopping experience with eShakti. This lightweight cotton dress is fresh, timeless and can be worn for many different occasions. I have to admit, when I put it on I felt like I was being transported to the Harlem Renaissance period at some swanky Jazz lounge being serenaded by the sounds of Duke Ellington. This dress let my imagination run away with me.

If your not much of a mall shopper but you’re on the hunt for a trendy dress that fits just right, eShakti.com is an awesome online store I highly recommend shopping. I’m not one of those women that can just go into a store and buy something right off the rack, sometimes my items have to be altered; so I was excited to find out that I could customize my dress, pants, or top for just $9.95. They provide simple instructions on how to measure, enter in your measurements for the item you want to purchase and Voila! Aside from being able to customize my dress for the perfect fit, I was really able to narrow down my dress search. I knew I wanted a red dress so I used the filter tool to search for red dresses. Doesn’t get any simpler than that. Allow me to put the icing on the cake and share that I also had the option of getting my dress with or without pockets, choosing the width of my dress straps and choosing my dress length (tea-length in this case).

<> In case you’re wondering, i’m currently obsessing over the
Blue-Red Brooklyn Dress. I’m thinking this dress will transport me to a fun summer week in Cali, all expenses paid of course :).

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BLUES

I’m officially in love with this denim off the shoulder dress. It goes perfectly with my sunnies, but most importantly, you can pair it with literally ANYTHING! This is an essential piece for my wardrobe and shall be worn often. I kept it pretty simple in these pics by only pairing it with my blue tinted sunnies and blue and white striped espadrilles. I’ll be hauling this dress to the beach next month and packing it for some road trips as well. If your out of outfit ideas, buy a simple yet trendy dress like this and pair it with accessories that you already own and BOOM-instant glam.
I have a tendency to over think and over work my outfits so typically when that happens I just choose a simple dress and add some accessories to elevate the look. I find that over thinking your look really takes away from the fun in getting dressed and robs you of your creativity. That being said, as a general rule, I never set my clothes out the night before, I usually wake up and choose my outfit according to mood. A bit risky but my feelings may not be the same from day to day when it comes to outfits. It is very possible for me to be in a boho mood the night before and wake up feeling a bit casual in some oversized boyfriend jeans and chucks. I just never know so I wait till the day of.
Wishing you all a great week!

WHITE OFF THE SHOULDER DRESS

I kept it super simple easy breezy this weekend in my white off the shoulder dress. It was just that type of weather this weekend and I just couldn’t resist fresh whites with a pop of color. I have a bit of an obsession with the color white so it was really a no-brainer getting ready. NC weather has finally caught up with my wardrobe and I’m so happy about it. If I had it my way, it would be spring everyday and all day. So wishing I could put this weather in a time-capsule and never ever transition to winter days and black ice.
I decided to revisit my old stomping grounds (Downtown Raleigh) and soaked up some serious sun rays and now have a few brownish tan lines to prove it. You can do just about anything with this light, airy white dress. I kept it real simple this time around and added some blue tinted sunnies, chandelier earrings and finished the look off with my teal peep toe flats. This look is great for a warm day out at the park or for meeting up with friends for a brunch or coffee. What I love most about this dress is that it can easily transition to the perfect beach look; add a floppy hat and some cute casual sandals and BOOM, instant beach wear!
I’d like to end this post by announcing that all the votes are in and I’ve decided that Monday should no longer exist and it’s dreadful friends called Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday shall be excommunicated and can no longer participate in the weekday lineup. Unfortunately, there is just not enough room in the week for these days so I have no other choice but to amend them. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your weekday festivities but understand that it is simply for the best. <>
Just a little Monday morning humor. LOL, HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!
Sincerely,
Deidra Marie
