A HURRICANE MICHAEL THEMED WEDDING

When a hurricane is expected to blow into town, just dress up with some of your fav blogger pals and have a fun wedding photoshoot. This beautiful vintage bohemian inspired photoshoot was beyond fun! One of my fave blogger pals, Nicole, of the doctorette reached out about being a bridesmaid for an amazing photoshoot she had lined up at The Meadows. Isn’t she a lovely bride! Funny thing is, she actually is a real bride who will be tieing the knot soon. (not to the man featured in the pics) LOL. After the wind, rain, and jamming to some serious 90’s tunes, I was beat. I love connecting with other Raleigh bloggers to make photo magic. We’re just creatives trying to spread creative wherever we go. Keep scrolling to see all the creative photos they captured and peep the list of shout outs too because none of this awesomeness would have been possible without them.

MS. FULL FIGURED NC 2018

Extra extra, read all about it, I’m proud to announce that I am your new reigning Ms. Full Figured NC 2018. If you’ve been keeping up on IG and Facebook, you already know the good news, but for those that don’t do social media like that, I wanted to share a post with all the pics from this amazing day. I’m overwhelmed by the love and support of my family and friends and it’s all so surreal that I’m a pageant girl and even more surreal that I’m a pageant girl thatย won. NEVER in a million years did I think I’d be walking around with a crown on my head and the title of Queen. I’ve joked with my husband in the past about calling me Queen Deidra but who would have thought this would be a reality.

Everybody I love and care about was in the building and if they weren’t in the building, they were there in spirit. I can’t thank everyone enough for the love, their support, their guidance, their kind words, their gifts, their presence, their prayers, EVERYTHING. Did I mention I’m overwhelmed and my cup is completely full and better yet, overflowing.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

ย

Despite the stress, the weight-loss, the anxiety, the trials, lack of sleep, crazy journey to finding the right gown (changed my gown 3 times), not being able to spend time and hang out with family and friends, I wouldn’t trade this pageant experience for anything else in the world. I’ve learned so much, have grown so much and have made some pretty amazing friends and connections being apart of this amazing experience. I’ll be sharing about my gifts on the blog soon, as well as some confessions about the overall experience in a blogpost later in the year. In the meantime, I’m prepping for the Ms. Full-Figured USA competition which is the national competition taking place in New Jersey in April. All the deets on this to come at a later date.

Thanks for following along, not only the blog, but on this pageant journey, it’s been a crazy ride but I know I couldn’t do it without my loyal CCC readers.

Till next time.

LOU & GREY BLOGGER MEET UP

This blogger meet and greet at Lou & Grey North Hills happened close to a month ago and I’m finally getting a chance to share a few pics from this fun-filled event. This summer is my first time really connecting with other bloggers in my area. It’s been great to meet these amazing women in the Triangle and their photographer bf’s and hubbies too ๐Ÿ™‚ For those who don’t blog, it’s very common to adopt your spouse or boyfriend as your photographer for your blog, LOL ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚ . Anyway, everyone I’ve met so far has so many amazing stories to share and their blogs are absolutely amazing with great, authentic, real content. I’ve learned a lot this summer about how important my blogger network is. I must admit, I have kind of been in my blogger bubble for a few years trying to figure out how get noticed on IG and other social outlets to build up a bigger audience but this summer I just simply don’t care about that anymore. I care about the relationships I’ve made with bloggers and content creators. It’s so much more important to me to connect than to stay glued behind a computer screen waiting for opportunities to come my way. I’m learning to let things go and just flow. I’ve never really been to concerned about following simply because those who follow me I know are authentic followers who choose to read my content. This summer has taught me that those who are around for the CCC blog are meant to be there. This blogging thing is hard and requires planning, networking, patience and perseverance. The easy part is that I can just be me.

The beautiful blonde in the black dress is Nicole from The Doctorette blog.ย Nicole and the Lou & Grey team hosted this amazing blogger meet and greet for us and I can’t thank her and Lou & Grey North Hills enough! I’m sure you see some other familiar faces in the pics too. You may remember my friend Taylor (beautiful floral dress). We were laughing it up at the event talking about how Taylor should start a blog called “Yoga Paws” (because she’s obsessed with her dog and yoga). She’s a bit busy with her PhD program right now but when she gets some down time, I’m sure she’ll be all over this blog idea. And who could forget the lovely Valerie from The Mini Mama blog. It was so great running into her and her lovely cousin (far left). Between the cake pops, good conversation about research and future higher education plans and snapping a few fun pics around the store I was energized and looking back on this day, I’m excited my blogger future. These blogger meet greets are always so unexpected, full of women from diverse backgrounds and enlightening. I hope to one day host my own meet and greet and perhaps promote a life changing initiative. With this summer coming to a close and I feel more confident about the future of the CCC blog and hope you’ll continue to follow along and support me on this journey. Growth, insight and new people help me feel refreshed and enthusiastic about what’s to come. Now I’m all jittery and ready for the next adventure. Stay tuned!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
