Literally can’t believe I’m in the 3rd trimester! Soon Baby C will be here. I can’t hardly wait. Mostly because I have so many questions for the little kiddo, like why they like watermelon and slushies so dang much and why in the world does every beverage I drink have to be freezing ice cold. Also, I’ve come to the sudden realization this weekend that my balance now officially sucks. Keep scrolling for a pic where I almost bust my butt trying to dance. Clearly, this is Baby C’s nice way of saying I should sit down somewhere, LOL.
So, today’s post I’ll be sharing some things I’ll be doing to make my 3rd trimester the best trimester of them all despite COVID-19 and the race wars happening all over the country right now. So, here we go…
LIGHT EXERCISE
I’ve unfortunately had to slow down on the exercise these day. The first trimester I was doing my regular cycle and HITT classes. Second trimester I did a lot of kickboxing and some light HITT classes catered to pregnant women, This third trimester, I’ve been walking 2-3 miles daily and I have been doing some light weight training. I’m dong significantly less and I’m not too happy about it, but this is all my body is capable of at this time and I’m not trying to push it and risks harming Baby C.
FOOD/DIET
I’ve been kind of eating what I want. If I want ice cream, I get it and I don’t feel guilty about it. For the most part, I eat fairly balanced meals, but I don’t calorie count, I don’t worry about my weight and I don’t stress about food. I’ve followed this even before pregnancy. I do terrible with restrictions and feel the best way for me to have a healthy relationship with food is to just simply be concious of my choices, don’t restrict and let it flow.
BABY SHOWER
So the baby shower is this weekend. I’ve enlisted the help of one of my amazing friends who has been able to help me pull off a virtual baby shower since you know, COVID, ugh. 😑. Charles and I have been really busy making thank you cards, creating a cool thank you video for our guest who attend our Zoom baby shower and we’ve been finalizing our baby registry so we get all the things we actually need. It’s been a fun, but very exhausting process to say the least.
HOUSE CLEANING
So we deep cleaned our house in March to get prepared for the baby. We have two cats, one is long haired so we try our best to keep it hair and cat dandruff free. We have scheduled a cut for our long haired cat at the end of July and will get the carpets deep cleaned again. Unfortunately, if the baby is allergic we’ll have to get rid of the cats. Fingers crossed baby is fine with the cats and they all live in peace and harmony. Stay tuned for more updates on this.
PACKING
We are planning to pack our hospital bags in a few weeks. Charles and I are trying to keep it simple because we already have so much clutter we’ve been spending the whole summer trying to clean out. We are planning to only bring the things we need. Here’s hoping things go according to plan.
FOOD PREP
One thing we’ll start doing closer to the due date is pre cooking meals and freezing them. We now know that it’ll more than likely be next to impossible to cook with a whole new born, so we’ve decided to meal prep and get our lives together as much as we can during this time before Baby C makes the grand entrance into this COVID world.
I think that’s all for now. I’m sure I’m missing things, but I’ve covered the main things I’m doing. Stay tuned for deets on how our baby shower went. Till then, stay blessed.
Sincerely,
Deidra Marie
