OUI FRESH BEAUTY FINDS

It’s been an amazing first week back on the mainland. I have so many amazing Hawaii post to share with you. Because I have a wealth of content on the way, I’ll be posting two times a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) for the next few weeks so that memory doesn’t become complete mush from all my Hawaii adventures. Monday’s I’ll have my #OOTD post and mid-week I’ll share about Hawaii. Does that sound like a deal? Awesome, so glad you’re all on board, because I have so much to tell you!

If you keep up with my IG and Facebook page, you’ll notice, I dedicate 1 weekly post to one of my favorite collaborations with Oui Fresh. They are seriously an amazing beauty brand that I’ve been rolling with for almost half a year now. I get this pretty freaking awesome beauty box 1-2 times a month with all these amazing goodies in it from hair conditioner to shampoo, to deodorant to essential oils, you name it, I got it. I haven’t really dedicated any time to talking about the products and how much I love them, so I thought I’d share a bit about the lip glosses this week and circle back around in the coming weeks and feature some of the other amazing beauty box finds I have in my possession.

Keep scrolling and check out this colorful look on the way down. My outfits just keep getting weirder and weirder and I love it.

Shirt | Dress | Boots | Hat

So Oui Fresh has great selection of lip glosses on deck. You can search them all here. What I love most is that their all great colors that match with just about anything, made with all natural ingredients and they are super moisturizing! I’m not ashamed to say I’m running out the Sabrina lip gloss featured in this post. It’s by far my fav shade and I basically wear it everyday. I have a couple more go to’s like the lava lamp and Buffy, you may have seen me sporting them on IG in some past post. Anyway, when you get some time, swing by the Oui Fresh website and check out their beauty boxes and don’t forget to subscribe to get them every month. I swear, it’s totally worth a look. Oh, before I go, link to my look is above the sweater is from a few years back and the hat is thrifted so I just linked some similar items for your shopping pleasure. By the way, if you’re wanting an explanation for this outfit mash-up just know that I was feeling a little 90’s grudge, but still kept it extra colorful.

See you all back here on Wednesday with a Hawaii post.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

EARTH KISSED BEAUTY

Been beach hoping around the lovely island of Oahu for the past few days living my best life in my best skin days yet. Silky, smooth and soft to the touch, my skin has been at its all-time best these past few days thanks to Earth Kissed Beauty.

Charles and I have been on the island for about a week now visiting for the International Conference on Education. When we weren’t hanging with educators and other intellectuals, we were soaking up some serious Hawaiian sun, and I’m surprised to say it hasn’t gotten to me yet. Everyday, I’ve been using the Chamomile Peace Sugar Scrub and Sweet Baby Body Butter and my skin has been super soft and supple to the touch. Most body butters I’ve used in the past have had heavy fragrance and tend not to last long, but this body butter keeps me moisturized all day and the smell is not too aggressive: Let’s just say I’ll be buying in bulk from now on.

One of my fave things about this skincare line is that all of the Earth Kissed products are 100% all natural, organic ingredients with no fillers or preservatives. That did make it tricky to travel to Hawaii with, but if kept in cool or in a temperature regulated location, you should be fine. All natural ingredients are usually the first thing I look for in my skincare products because I have ultra sensitive skin in addition to eczema and a skin condition called Hidradentitis Supprativa. I have to be extremely careful with not only my diet, but with what skincare products I opt to use. I’ve become real good at reading ingredient labels and have had great success with products that simply have less in it. Number one skincare shopping rule for me, less is best. For me, the less ingredients the better. I’ve also found that the thicker emollients or skincare products that include thick oils (olive oil, coconut oil, apricot oil and avocado oil) are also a plus and do wonders for my skin. Usually when the products include ingredients like that, it’s long-lasting, really penetrates beyond the first few layers of skin and keeps me moisturized all day.

Are you local? Interested in trying out these amazing products by Earth Kissed Beauty? Well then head on over to Earth Kissed beauty located in Garner, NC. You can also check our Earth Kissed on their Instagram page at @earth_kissed_beauty

More pics from my Hawaii adventures to come. Stay tuned.

5 FASHION GOALS FOR 2019

I’ve been preoccupied with prepping for my conference in Hawaii this week and completely forgot to share all the deets on this cute outfit. Some of you may have seen it featured on my IG and Facebook page, but for those who don’t follow along on those social media channels, thought I’d spread the love here. This was for sure one of my all-time fav winter looks and I’d go as so far as to say it’s one of my fav looks from 2018. Got this cute festive floral dress from Rugged Warehouse for $12.00. I know, it was hard for me to believe too. As for the hot pink beret, this beauty was found at a cute little thrift shop in Apex, NC along with a few other colored berets you’ve probably seen me wear on the blog a few times.

Anyway, I’ll end this post by sharing a few fashion goals for 2019, so keep scrolling.

Shop sustainably like I’ve been doing, I’ll always support my local thrift, consignment and IG vintage shops. This is a great way to give back while reducing the clutter in thrift shops.

Build up the courage to rock some leather pants. I’ve felt like my thighs were too big for this look, but I’ve definitely seen so many great women rock this look who are a bit curvier on the bottom and I’m slowly building up the courage to do the same.

Donate 1 of unused clothing this year. I’ve built up quite a collection of clothes over the years so it’s time to purge and donating is a great way to give back help out my community.

Remix and rework the clothes I already have. My wardrobe is full to capacity so it’s definitely not a bad idea to start reusing and restyling clothes that I already in my closet.

Invest in better quality activewear. I’ve been working out really hard at the gym but my activewear hasn’t. I need activewear that works as hard as I do and last longer so I’m making it a point to purchase activewear that is of good quality and is breathable.

Well, guess that’s it for now. Stay tuned for some Hawaii content. Can’t wait to capture this beautiful island and it’s wonder.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie.
