PURTY GIRL CASUAL CHIC

All the Purty things on the blog today. Sometimes I keep it casual and other times I do it dressy casual or what I like to call casual chic. One thing I pride myself on is making casual look cool and really freaking put together. Saturdays are usually the days I try to make my tee’s look super fashionable since I have more time to really think about my look and the vibe I’m feeling for the day. I have a formula to this: SUNNIES+EARRINGS+BOLD LIP+METALLIC SHOES+COOL DENIM=Casual Chic.

Ya see, it’s not rocket science. I strongly believe that with this formula you can’t go wrong. All a good tee needs is some love from their good ole friends accessories and bam, you have something that can take you from day to night just like that. I’m currently digging the new tee’s from Purty and they have some of the best new accessories inventory to take your tee to the next level, I’m purty sure of it, LOL 😂

Loving my very Purty pieces? Well you can Shop my Purty tee here and if you’re so loving my dangly printed earrings, you can shop those babies here or here in another color.

Here’s to making casual the new chic.

Till next time good people.

Sincerely,

SUMMER TO FALL TRANSITION FINDS

Okay everybody, you know it that time of year. Yup, you guessed it! It’s time to start adding on those summer to fall transition pieces to your wardrobe. I have a vibe that summer is going to end sooner than expected here in NC so with that I’m already wracking up on transition pieces so I’m ready to go. Here are a few of my suggested transition wardrobe pieces to help me get through the summer to fall move.

PAPER BAG JEANS

I’ve been digging this trend for awhile, but had such a struggle trying to find some that looked good on me and fit well through the hip, thigh and waist. I love the high waisted ones because they provide a lot coverage in the mid-section. These jeans scream summer to fall transition and can be worn in so many different way. In this instance, I’ve paired it with a bodysuit and ankle strap heels. Of course, as it gets colder you can most definitely do a mule shoe with a cute long sleeve top or blazer.

BLAZER

Time to break out those plaid blazers. You knew blazers were going to be on my list. Why wouldn’t they be, LOL. They are the perfect transition piece and great for layering. If it gets hot, you just take it off and keep it moving. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, get you a blazer to help elevate a basic look and make you look effortlessly put together.

DENIM JACKET

Much like the blazer, this piece is a great layering piece on those kinda sort of warm to cool days. It’s a more casual option for your wardrobe, but absolutely necessary and a classic that can go with just about anything in your closet.

SCARVES

Okay, as the days get cooler, I start bringing out my silk and satin scarves as a layering piece. Right now it’s clearly too hot to be having anything around my neck, but once it starts to get cool, my short silk and satin scarves are a must. I also deck my purses out in these babies and wear them on my head as a headband or head wrap. I get bored with using them just for my neck, so those are two great ways to keep my looks fresh and fashion forward.

I hope these transition pieces are a help to you. They never get old for me and all four are tried and true. May we all have a very fashionable end to summer and an extra fab and fashionable fall. 😉

Till next time.

MIXING AND MATCHING WITH TANEL VEENRE JEWELRY

Lately I’ve been throwing pieces together that don’t make sense and I love it. I love the mix of old and new clothing pieces and I also love the idea of wearing an outfit that looks like I’m going to work but also looks like I’m going for a run or out for date night. This outfit has a little bit of everything and that’s the vibe I’ve been on all summer; wear outfits that are fit for any occasion. That being said, here are a few tips for mixing and matching outfits that can be appropriate for multiple occasions.

BE BRAVE

You have to trust your mixing and matching skills. Most of my bravery comes from color blocking outfits. I’m not afraid to mix colors and patterns. In fact, it’s all I really know how to do because I do it so much. Trust your styling skills and just go for it. Sometimes the oddest outfits are the ones that really help you express yourself and how you’re feeling. Clothing and fashion is art, and sometimes art is not suppose to make sense, it’s suppose to challenge the popular vote and break down systems that would other wise keep us silent. Be brave and use your clothes to make a statement in a world where sometimes your voice is hard to be heard. In other words, let the clothes speak for you.

A LITTLE DAINTY, A LITTLE STREET

I love the juxtaposition of street style and dainty femme wear. It’s like saying I’m hardcore, but can still be soft, delicate and feminine if need be. I do this often by pairing pant suits with sneakers and very dainty earrings like the dope ones I’m wearing for this blogpost by Tenel Veenre Jewelry. You should check out their site by the way. They have some of the most colorful fun ear berries that can really take your look to it’s next level. I’m rocking the Wild Bananas with this look. Yup, they are called ear berries, cute huh?

SEASON MIX

I love to mix pieces from different seasons. I’m not talking jean skirts and Ugg boots, LOL. It’s kind of weird, but if done correctly, your outfits can really make all the sense in the world. For example, a cute floral maxi dress with booties. Maxi dresses are clearly a summer look and booties are clearly a fall/winter item, but when paired together, they make and awesome transition outfit into fall and winter. Don’t believe me, here’s the proof.

BLAZERS

You may have heard me say this before on a blogpost or two and I can’t stress it enough that blazers are the ultimate clothing item to take outfits from daywear to night. Blazers elevate an outfit and can tone an outfit down too. All you need are a few to complete a good transition look. Need I say more?

By the way, dope sunnies by Sojos Vision. Peep my last post for all the deets on this awesome company and get you a pair.

Till next time good people.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
