JORD & FLORALS FOR MOTHER’S DAY

When I was 10, my mother randomly decided one day that she would renovate our small Massachusetts condo. It started off as a small project, painting a few walls here and there, then it turned into replacing kitchen cabinets, bathroom flooring and lighting. Soon she had renovated my brother’s entire bedroom, created a cute pink theme in the room my sister and I shared, and painted our kitchen walls calm blue color. My mother has always put time into making our house a home, sacrificing her time to make sure my brother, sister and I were always comfortable and happy. Her time was always spent with us, living for us, caring for us, and always, without a doubt, putting us first. I can’t repay her for all she’s done, but I thought this year I might be able to get her something extra special for Mother’s Day, something representative of the time she’s spent being an awesome mom, a unique mother’s day gift, a JORD women’s watch to be exact. Dress | Earrings


Sun out means legs out! I’ve been waiting for this moment. NC has had some awkward weather for the past few months and waiting for it normalize was agonizing. I think it’s finally stable and pretty safe to say spring is here for real for real, LOL. I can’t the number of white dresses I own, all of them unique in their own way with varying details and in many different lengths. I love white because its a fresh look and if worn with the right accessories can look very put together, plus, white just goes with everything! I’ve rearranged my closet a bit, sorted through my clothes for giveaway and shocked myself with the number of white pieces I own. Every spring I tell myself I’m not going to buy another white fabric and bam, Banana Republic all of sudden has a elegant white maxi that I could clearly wear to a summer garden party that doesn’t exist and will never happen. Yes, ladies and gentleman, I tell myself these things to trick myself into buying things I clearly don’t need. Well, that’s exactly what this dress is; didn’t need it, not going anywhere in it, and sadly haven’t been invited to any garden parties since…..since NEVER but what the heck. And now that I think about it, why the heck would I wear a elegant white maxi dress to a garden party? There would be grass stains all over it, but I digress. 

About this dress, I love the navy tassles and the pom pom sleeves. TREND ALERT, I’m seeing these pom pom sleeves just about everywhere and I think it’s just darling on dresses and flowy blouses. I’ve linked a similar dress at the top and similar earrings for you but if your curious, I got the dress for just $16 bucks from TJ Maxx and the earrings from Burlington Coat Factory for just 6 bucks. Not bad, huh? Oh, almost forgot, these cute curly tendrils I’m rocking are the result of a quick bantu knot out. I’ve updated how I achieve this style and will share with you soon.

DON’T GO CHASING B-DAY BALLOONS

I’ve been so busy this month that I forgot to give you all the deets on my birthday parties. I TURNED 30 just in case you didn’t know from my zillions of post on Insta and FB. Charles wanted to do it big this year and booked a fun filled day for my family and friends. While I have no picture evidence of the first b-day event in question, it was very real and it really happened, adult laser tag that is. Two skinned knees later I was ready to go home hook my oxygen tank and spend the rest of the day in bed recovering, j/k. Well, sort of, I was exhausted. For some reason I thought I was Jason Bourne and could muster enough energy to beat 20 10 year old kids at laser tag. Yup, this is 30 ladies and gentlemen. As quoted so eloquently by Forrest Gump, “And just like that, my running days were over.” See exhibit A, B, and C, the pics of me chasing the pink balloon, yup this was exhausting too.  I literally needed a few weeks to recover hence while I’m finally writing this post now, LOL

In any case, had a delicious lunch at this amazing tex mex restaurant called Chuy’s, food was sooo fresh! Then, a lackluster dinner at Bruno’s that night. Long story short, the service was not up to par, food was salty, but with family and friends there I couldn’t complain. It was an amazing day full love and joy. As for 31, they can have that. I’ll be 30 for awhile as I’m currently liking the way this feels.
