NIGHT OF THE ARTS

I had an amazing time supporting my baby sis at her very first art show this past Friday night! It was a silent auction in Greensboro, NC. Sis had 4 pieces up for bidding. Not bad for her first show, huh? Most of the fam came out to support. I’m pretty sure I embarrassed her with all my pic taking. At first I pretended I didn’t know her, walked up to her art and starting asking for pricing to boost interest, because that’s what sisters do, LOL. I know, I know, totally embarrassing but well worth the time as people kept walking over to her joker painting considering a bid. It was a long night of hustling but in the end she was happy to have gotten over her fear of crowds, sort of. This was a perfect way to jump start the weekend. I’m so proud of her and looking forward to more art show shenanigans this summer. Don’t tell her but now that I have pics of her art, I’m going to start submitting some of it for showcasing. She’ll thank me later, 😉

If your interested in purchasing any of her work, feel free to contact me with pricing.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Now let the weekday commence.

Sincerely,

DON’T GO CHASING B-DAY BALLOONS

I’ve been so busy this month that I forgot to give you all the deets on my birthday parties. I TURNED 30 just in case you didn’t know from my zillions of post on Insta and FB. Charles wanted to do it big this year and booked a fun filled day for my family and friends. While I have no picture evidence of the first b-day event in question, it was very real and it really happened, adult laser tag that is. Two skinned knees later I was ready to go home hook my oxygen tank and spend the rest of the day in bed recovering, j/k. Well, sort of, I was exhausted. For some reason I thought I was Jason Bourne and could muster enough energy to beat 20 10 year old kids at laser tag. Yup, this is 30 ladies and gentlemen. As quoted so eloquently by Forrest Gump, “And just like that, my running days were over.” See exhibit A, B, and C, the pics of me chasing the pink balloon, yup this was exhausting too.  I literally needed a few weeks to recover hence while I’m finally writing this post now, LOL

In any case, had a delicious lunch at this amazing tex mex restaurant called Chuy’s, food was sooo fresh! Then, a lackluster dinner at Bruno’s that night. Long story short, the service was not up to par, food was salty, but with family and friends there I couldn’t complain. It was an amazing day full love and joy. As for 31, they can have that. I’ll be 30 for awhile as I’m currently liking the way this feels.

Oh, before I go. I’ve linked a similar sparkly green dress and my red b-day dress at le top of the post. Enjoy and have a good week!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

DOWNTOWN VIBES AT LIVING KITCHEN

Another weekend gone in a matter of seconds. Again, Smonday should be a new day of the week. Spent a large chunk of the weekend chillaxin with one of my fav babes, Hannah. We are on this healthy-living kick right now so what better spot to grub out than at Living Kitchen. Living Kitchen is housed in the heart of Downtown Raleigh and serves some serious fresh eats that are organic, colorful and just good for the body in general. Who says organic can’t be yummy? I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how satisfying the veggie burger was. I ordered a salad with some random stuff on it too. It was crunchy and colorful,  my two favorite things. Kinda makes you think that this eating healthy business isn’t that bad after all if you choose the right meals.

On another note, in less than 4 days Charlie and I are making our way to the west coast. Were going going back back to Cali Cali. Well, we’ve never been but you get my drift, LOL, Los Angeles to be exact. Stay tuned for my packing shenanigans and my quest to meet some celebrity crushes.

Have a awesome, fantastic week!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
