MAKING IT WITH NO MAKE-UP

I love me with make-up and I love me without it too. Sometimes I’m just too lazy to come out the house “dripping” as these young kids say. Other times I’m motivated to do a whole face and then as the day progresses, totally start dreading the idea of washing it all off. Yes, I’m that girl, LOL. Okay, shameless moment, when I won my pageant, and was up on stage getting my crown, the only thing I was thinking about was A. when can I get out of these heels and B. I was thinking it’s going to take hours to wash all this make-up off my face. The heels came off about 10 minutes later and washing the make-up off my face took about 8-10 minutes tops. Yes, I know, I’m so dramatic. There’s a point to all this. I see a lot of people bashing women who wear make-up and I see equally as many people bashing women who don’t. I just do what feels good. Some days, I want to bum it and other days I want to be the girl who won my crown back in October that was full-blown glam. I say all this to say that it’s impossible to box everyone up. We are complex human beings with so many sides to us and it’s important that we embrace them all and do the things that make us feel good, confident, happy, empowered and alive, which is why you’ll often see post on my blog where I’m wearing little or no make-up and others where I’m full glam and ready for anyones runway.

The content I create is based on how I feel and while that may not be the best branding, it is my brand to never expect the same thing twice. I’m most confident when I’m doing me and nothing else. In this post, it just so happens to be barefaced. Then next, it might be full-blown glam and blonde hair. Who knows. Whatever the case may be, I do me and me alone. One thing I know you’ll always see consistently is my smile, color, and good vibes. This is how I make it with no make-up.

Tell me, what makes you feel alive? What things do you do for inner peace or to spark that fire?

Till next time.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

YES TO HYDRATED HAIR

I say Yesto soft, supple, hydrated curls and coils. I’m a sucker for a good hair mask. Finally found another one that gets it right, is natural and smells amazing. Yes! Yes! and Yes! I tried out the Yesto Coconut Ultra Hydrating Replenishing and Moisturizing Hair Clay Mask last week and my hair is so happy, detangled and super hydrated. I’ll be trying the Yesto Brightening Hair Clay Mask and the Frizz Fighting Smoothing hair mask next. 2019 has been the year for using clean products with minimal to no harmful ingredients. For those who have taken this journey to living a clean beauty lifestyle, you know it’s not easy to purge of the old and bring in the new, so having the Yesto products to begin my clean journey has been a dream.

Before applying the hair clay mask, my hair was tangled from not washing or detangling it for almost two weeks, so I wasn’t expecting this mask to really do much as my hair was in pretty bad shape and most of the time when it’s like this, no product can really make getting it back into tip-top shape any easier. I thought I’d try something different and apply the mask to barely damp hair with a light spritz of water before shampooing. I let the mask sit for about 20 minutes, rinsed it out while finger detangling my hair. Detangling was a breeze because the mask really softened my hair and loosened up the tangles. After styling, my hair was very voluminous, hydrated and tangle free. This mask is a new fave and will now be apart of my hair routine. My kinks and coils are so happy now.

One of my all-time favorite things about the mask would have to be the creamy consistency. It went on smooth and is by far one of the creamiest textures I used thus far.  It’s super soft to the touch, not to mention, all of their products smell AMAZING. I haven’t tried the face mask, but I’m thinking if the hair mask are amazing, the face mask must be equally amazing. Stay tuned for a face mask review in the coming weeks.

Visit Yesto to shop all the Yesto products. Hopefully you’ll find some amazing things that you can incorporate into your skincare or haircare routine.

Till next time!

DOLE PLANTATION VISIT

Pineapple drinks on deck

So fresh and so sweet

Okay, I’ve been dragging this Hawaii trip out long enough. This is the last post about Hawaii, I swear. I couldn’t possibly skip out on sharing one of my favorite tours in Hawaii, our visit to the Dole Plantation. As many of you may have already figured out, Hawaii is one of the biggest exporters of the tastest fruit EVER, pineapples. It’s no secret this fruit taste delicious and is by far one of my favorite eats. It’s also one of the few fruits I’m not allergic to. If you haven’t already guessed it by now, you should know Charles and I literally toured Hawaii in less than 3 days so that’s why all of our post are jammed packed with activities because it was basically a non stop adventure from beginning to end with no rest in between. The Dole plantation was on of those adventures.

We had the most fun at on this visit. We tried pineapple ice cream for the first time, hoped a train ride with the Pineapple Express and toured the pineapple fields and snapped some random shots all over the landscape and inside the biggest, fake pineapple I’ve ever seen. And of course, we had to shop the pineapple gift shop because who doesn’t love buying trinkets for their family members.
