ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS…

For those who don’t know, I’ve been receiving some of the most amazing beauty products from Oui Fresh. I receive a one month supply beauty box of some the best lipsticks, oils, hair conditioners, shampoos, nail polish and lip glosses. There are more, but way too many to name. For all the deets on how to get started with your OuiFresh subscription to receive beauty boxes every month, check them out here. In this month’s beauty box I received some super fun lip glosses and this awesome “Babe With The Power” tee. The lippy I’m wearing in the pics is called Sabrina. This is one of two beauty boxes I’ll be receiving for December. Getting these gifts gets me all giddy and warm and fuzzy inside and has got me thinking about what I want for Christmas. Have you all got your Christmas list together? I have a few things on my mind, but I usually don’t know what I want until it’s too late and Christmas has passed. I am however, on top of things this year and gathered a list of a few things that I want and why. You should check it out!  Oh by the way, link to this fun holiday inspired look is listed below.

ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH

Apparently, according to my dentist, I’m brushing too hard, so I gotta take it easy on the chompers and he said I should get an electric toothbrush. Any suggestions? This will be my first one. Drop your suggestions in the comment box below. It will be much appreciated.

HAIR STEAMER

I’ve been wanting one of these since FOREVER and I think I’m finally going to take that leap and purchase one. They have amazing benefits for your overall hair health and help retain moisture in your hair which, as you know, with this mop, is a PLUS.

151b and 20lb DUMBBELLS

I’m trying to up my fitness routine and the 5lb and 10lb dumbbells are little too light now since I’m getting stronger and more fit. That being said, I usually purchase my dumbbells from Walmart or Target for my at home strength training workouts. Here’s hoping I see these under the tree this year.

INSTAPOT

Word on the street is that this baby cooks your beans and other food at lightning fast rates. I  have all the cooking responsibilities in our household so an instapot would make my life so much easier. Right after I get off work, I start cooking and while the food is slow cooking, Charles and I usually go for a run around the neighborhood or do some type of strength training in the living room, but if I could cook things faster, I wouldn’t have to worry about checking in on the food during our workout sessions.

SATCHEL/CROSS BODY PURSE

Don’t get me wrong, I love my ginormous purses, but on days where I’m roaming around the city doing random stuff with Charles, I want something I can just throw over my body that’s light-weight, but still big enough to carry all the random stuff you’d find in my purse (i.e. lotion, hand sanitizer, make-up, my library card and mountains of return receipts, LOL 😂)

So, there you have it ladies and gentlemen, my 2018 Christmas wish list. It’s pretty simple if you ask me. Here’s hoping all my Christmas dreams come true.

Tell me, what’s on your Christmas list this year? Comment below what you have your eye on and I’m hoping and praying you  see what you’re looking for under the tree this year.

Till next time.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

TURKEY DAY AND THE 5 F’S

(left) Big Bro Derek, Mom, Dad, baby sis Danny, and me

Momma

There were about 5 different families under our roof the other day and I couldn’t be more blessed. This is the first time we’ve had almost the whole squad together under one roof so, like any blogger would do in this situation, I forced everyone to dress up in fall colors and go outside and take pics, LOL. (and like I knew my family would, nobody was in dress code, LOL) which leads me into my 5 F’s or in other words, the 5 things I’m grateful for. Keep scrolling for the list.

FAMILY

Duh, you knew that already. This is literally the ultimate gift and I so appreciate just eating with them, catching up with them, playing endless games of Taboo into the night hours with them. God is so good!

FRIENDS

I’ve lost some friends, but really value the ones I have. Friendships these days have been so meaningful and now that my circle of friends is smaller and tighter, I can really focus in on what makes each and every one of them so special and unique. You know who you are, you know who I’m talking too. Know that I value you and all the things that make you you.

FOOD

God bless all the calories I took in this past weekend, may they all melt away into a far far land that is not my stomach, LOL. I must admit, there was some good food this past Thursday, of course, I was responsible for making all the bad food, all the cards, all the starch. Thankfully, my mother in-law brought all the healthy green beans, mustard greens and broccoli. Food really does bring people together and then afterwards sends people home so they can nap too, LOL.

FUN

Because we all need a bit more of it. Between school, work, blogging, family, friends and pageant duties, I’M BEAT and so looking forward to a vacation. This turkey day was a highlight of what’s to come. Our family has had a few scares these past few months so to see everybody at my house on Thursday was really the ultimate blessing. We had fun, we joked, we laughed, we watched the game, were loud and obnoxious, how any family member of mine would be. It was felt like home again.

FRIDAY

Black Friday that is. I shopped until I dropped. I’ll probably also return a whole bunch of stuff after seeing my next credit card bill but it was nice to take part in this ludicrous shopping tradition and because it started on Thursday, there was no fight with the crowd on Friday. I walked right in Target without a hassle, didn’t have to stand in one line and was greeted by one of the friendliest Target employees EVER.

What you thankful for? Drop your comments below!

Till Next Time,

Sincerely,

1 SWEATER, 5 FUN WAYS

Fall has been in full effect for a while now, but I’m just now realizing I did not feature nearly as many fall looks on the blog this year so, here you have it, 1 fun sweater styled 5 different ways for the business casual in me, the trendy chic girl in me, the Olivia Pope in me, the quirky weird chick in me, and the simple, sweet and innocent  lady in me. For those who have been following along for quite some time, know my style is not really all that consistent, I wear what feels good to me and I dress according to mood. It’s not my style to put myself in a box. Yes, I have my favorite things (vintage clothing finds, and bright colors) but, I’m so much more than that and always try to incorporate my favorite things into any look I rock. I’m not the perfect shape and don’t want to be, but one of my goals for this blog is to show that you don’t have to be the “the perfect size” to look and feel stylish and the other is to promote clothing reuse in an effort to reduce the amount of items going in and out of thrift stores and to support sustainable fashion. Lastly, I feel it’s important to simply dress how you feel, and use your clothing to make a statement, after all, before you speak, your clothes speak for you, might as well let them say how you feel. On that note, check out how I styled my fave mustard yellow sweater 5 fun ways.

Trendy chic with a little rocker girl inspo

The Olivia Pope. This girl means business. Thank you Mr. President 😉

This one is for my quirky, eccentric peeps, we prefer to be outside the box.

And let’s give it up for my simple, sweet, and innocent ladies. Always cute, but never too much or too little.

I’m all about recycling clothing. Keep your money in your pocket and rework the classic items you already have in your closet. For those who want to know how I make it look like I don’t wear the same thing twice, ladies and gentlemen, this is how. Perhaps you’d never wear any of these looks, but I guess that’s why it’s my style. Simply put, I challenge you to find your go-to clothing pieces and style them 5 different ways for the week, challenge yourself to rework the items you already have and feel free to drop a comment in the comment box about your go-to style piece and how you rock it. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Till next time!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
