When in ATL, drink a coke with a smile. Charlie and I headed out to Georgia for a wedding this past weekend. We packed to many clothes and ate an assortment of your generic American food and some good African cuisine this weekend. While in Atlanta it was hard to resist a trip to the Coca Cola Factory, the birth place of the famous drink might I add. So, I’ve been to the factory before once when I was in 8th grade, but they’ve renovated since then and when I say the renovations are amazing, they are literally AMAZING. Sad to say I don’t drink much soda but one trip to this museum and I was sold. I kept bugging Charles about finding the soda tasting station I saw once on my 8th grade field trip. I was sad because we were already 1 hour in and hadn’t seen the tasting station yet. It was of course the very last thing we came across, but so worth the wait. FYI, if you’ve been here before you know the Italy Coca Cola is very much an acquired taste 🙂 I think I tried about 6 different ginger ale’s, one of my all time fav pops. This gal was happy. One thing is for sure, there is always something to do in Atlanta, and therefore impossible to be bored in this lovely city. Atlanta my love, I’ll be back, hopefully soon and hopefully I’ll  be able to stay long enough to take in more downtown attractions, minus the parking fees. Stay tuned for my Daytona Beach adventures! By the way, I’ve linked the denim jeans and the top I was wearing at the top of the post for you to shop. Of course, as always, all items linked are on sale baby! Have a good week!

HELLO SPRING

Sun out means legs out! I’ve been waiting for this moment. NC has had some awkward weather for the past few months and waiting for it normalize was agonizing. I think it’s finally stable and pretty safe to say spring is here for real for real, LOL. I can’t the number of white dresses I own, all of them unique in their own way with varying details and in many different lengths. I love white because its a fresh look and if worn with the right accessories can look very put together, plus, white just goes with everything! I’ve rearranged my closet a bit, sorted through my clothes for giveaway and shocked myself with the number of white pieces I own. Every spring I tell myself I’m not going to buy another white fabric and bam, Banana Republic all of sudden has a elegant white maxi that I could clearly wear to a summer garden party that doesn’t exist and will never happen. Yes, ladies and gentleman, I tell myself these things to trick myself into buying things I clearly don’t need. Well, that’s exactly what this dress is; didn’t need it, not going anywhere in it, and sadly haven’t been invited to any garden parties since…..since NEVER but what the heck. And now that I think about it, why the heck would I wear a elegant white maxi dress to a garden party? There would be grass stains all over it, but I digress.

About this dress, I love the navy tassles and the pom pom sleeves. TREND ALERT, I’m seeing these pom pom sleeves just about everywhere and I think it’s just darling on dresses and flowy blouses. I’ve linked a similar dress at the top and similar earrings for you but if your curious, I got the dress for just $16 bucks from TJ Maxx and the earrings from Burlington Coat Factory for just 6 bucks. Not bad, huh? Oh, almost forgot, these cute curly tendrils I’m rocking are the result of a quick bantu knot out. I’ve updated how I achieve this style and will share with you soon.

Happy Hump Day!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

NIGHT OF THE ARTS

I had an amazing time supporting my baby sis at her very first art show this past Friday night! It was a silent auction in Greensboro, NC. Sis had 4 pieces up for bidding. Not bad for her first show, huh? Most of the fam came out to support. I’m pretty sure I embarrassed her with all my pic taking. At first I pretended I didn’t know her, walked up to her art and starting asking for pricing to boost interest, because that’s what sisters do, LOL. I know, I know, totally embarrassing but well worth the time as people kept walking over to her joker painting considering a bid. It was a long night of hustling but in the end she was happy to have gotten over her fear of crowds, sort of. This was a perfect way to jump start the weekend. I’m so proud of her and looking forward to more art show shenanigans this summer. Don’t tell her but now that I have pics of her art, I’m going to start submitting some of it for showcasing. She’ll thank me later, 😉

If your interested in purchasing any of her work, feel free to contact me with pricing.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Now let the weekday commence.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
