THAT FALL FEELING

Fall weather has finally made it’s arrival in NC and yes, you guessed it, I’ve got that fall feeling. Nothing excites me more than the smell of fall, the crisp cool air, leaves changing colors and falling to the ground, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread and most importantly, Thanksgiving with the family and friends. I get the warm and fuzzies ya’lls. Spent the day with Charlie, meandering around Cary, NC, checking the sites and grabbing an oh so delicious breakfast equipped with pumpkin pancakes and coffee.
On a fashion note, I nabbed this elegant, tailored plaid blouse on sale at Banana Republic last week, and just had to pair it with a mini skirt. I don’t show off my legs often but when I do, it’s in none other than a mini skirt. I guess you missed the part where I said sale. Allow me to repeat myself, Banana Republic is having a SALE. Yes, my name is bargain and I shop SALE ladies and gentlemen. I linked this cute plaid top at the top of the post and some similar styles of the jacket and skirt. Hope you like. I needed a blouse that could transition from work to play with little to no effort and I found it. I’ll be back to relish in their sale some more this week as I’m swooning over their sale denim and dresses.
Have an awesome week ya’ll!
Sincereley,
Deidra Craig

10/30 DMARIE XOXO

The last week in October is always the craziest for my family and I. The end of the month consist of my anniversary, my moms birthday, my father in-laws birthday and our NCSU Homecoming (which Charlie and I regrettably miss every year) 😦 because of all the celebrations taking place.

Let the games begin, because my November is jam packed and so is December. I think it begins to slow down for us typically after my birthday on March 11th. No complaints though, I never turn down the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

Began the weekend off with the obligatory visit to the NC Art Museum with my good friend Ozy, who just so happen to also be my photo test subject for the evening unbeknownst to her :).  We kicked it with some blow up bunnies and bald-headed hanging wall men, indulged in some Venezuelan cuisine and hit the sack before 10pm. Yes, you got it, were getting old LOL.

Hit the road and headed back to Charlie’s hometown to celebrate his dad’s 65th birthday! It was an awesome celebration filled with warm remarks and good ol soul food. I took home about 4 to go plates, mostly because I’m not in a cooking mood this week. Had Sunday church service then off to dinner to celebrate my mother’s 62nd birthday and our anniversary. So needless to say, it was quite the busy weekend. Momma was super happy though, and I was super happy to hang with my big bro and lil sis Derek and Danny. Check the throwback pic of my wedding and of course I had to throw in a childhood pic of my siblings. We haven’t changed a bit, huh?

I have some pretty amazing collabs coming down the pipes, so the next few post shall be very interesting. Stay tuned…

Sincerely,

NC MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES

This is what happens when you Google free things to do in Raleigh. You end up at a random museum taking shots with dino’s and seagulls from the Carolina coast.  Money is kind of tight and who knew this whole time I’ve been in this city that there were so many free things to do. Don’t you just love that word “free”? Say it a few times and let it roll off your tongue; 10 bucks you’ll heart will start to flutter. 🙂 In typical Craig fashion, we had to take pics of just about everything in sight. Spent time taking so many pics we didn’t even make it to the exhibits on the 3rd and 4th floor. Now we have an excuse to go back and visit again. We will start on the first floor again and try to see if we can make it to the top before close time.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Science is nestled smack in dab in the middle of downtown Raleigh. The ideal place for any blogger to snap amazing pics, find random eats and see the occasional street preacher or musician. With my fro out and empty pockets (literally, Charlie and I have no money :)) we ventured into the unknown…. okay, not exactly, I’ve been to this museum a few times in middle school, lets try this again. With my fro out and empty pockets, we ventured into the land of the lost. Yeah, that sounds a bit more suspenseful, huh? Now that I’ve got your attention, keep reading, a surprise ending awaits…

I always think to myself, are we touring Raleigh every weekend to collect ideas on how to entertain our future children. Ha, speaking of children, my mother spent the whole of yesterday yapping about how she has no grandchildren. I responded by saying that she was very ungrateful as she does have grandcats (my cats Tux and Lincoln). Parents these days, don’t appreciate anything, 🙂 but I digress…

If your in the Raleigh area, balling on a budget, interested in all things NC nature, wanna keep the kiddos entertained, and want to snap some pics with a ginormous t-rex head, I suggest you head on over to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences

The surprise ending…this visit was free…ha, my heart just fluttered! Hope you guys have a great week!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
