GRADUATION AND MINI VACATION

What a great weekend! Charlie and I made a quick trip to Greensboro to celebrate my brother-in laws graduation. He officially has his PhD. now. We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. Between the cookies, ginormous shower, and being in close proximity of the mall, I was pretty darn satisfied. A girl couldn’t ask for much more. That cute little bundle of joy in the red coat is my precious niece, Mari. Charlie and I hung out with her most of the day chatting about Cinnabons and plans to take over the world. Yup, this girl is smart as whip to be only 6 years old. We had deep conversations about the weather and her 1st grade math test. She will talk your ear off if you let her, LOL.

Anyway, this weekend truly got me in the Christmas spirit, partly because it is now officially freezing in NC, 21 degrees this weekend to be exact, but I’m staying cozy with my socks and sweatshirt for the rest of the week and hoping for some good warm coffee and donuts, mmm yummy.

Hope you had a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Deidra Craig

ICE CREAM DATE

Perfect start to a perfect weekend. So I’m clearly not the only one who appreciates ice cream on a cool day. It’s odd, I like hot coffee when it’s hot and iced coffee whenever or is that always? Who knows. Spent the day on campus with my main work babe. She’s another coffee loving, tea drinking, ice cream having anything sweet, random trips to the nearest food spot friend of mine. While the list of friends like this is long, this sweet lady appreciates anything random like I do. I opted for the banana pudding ice cream. I’m a bit guilty of the calorie count so I’ll just keep that to myself. My friend opted for something a little more eclectic, I think it was black raspberry something or another, eww, LOL.

I’m grateful to have friends that will indulge with me on multiple occasions and then wallow with me in a guilt trip as we discuss how 3 months earlier we were going to get our bodies in shape for the new year, Ha. Well, look at it this way, round is a shape, LOL.

If you ever make a visit to NC State campus, I suggest you try out the Howling Cow Ice Cream, made from our very own cows housed on campus. It’s some of the freshest ice cream I’ve had and no matter the flavor it doesn’t disappoint. So grab you a cone or two and get that round shape you’ve always wanted, LOL.

Hope you have an awesome week!

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie

CHUCKS AND CAMERAS

Charlie and I stuck around Raleigh for the Thanksgiving break and decided to get in some much needed shooting practice. We often take the weekends to create content but not much time is given to practicing with our cameras. There is always something to learn and so little time to do so. We discover new features about our cameras almost every time we shoot. We are definitely not rookies in this field but pride ourselves on capturing some pretty darn good shots every now and then.

With Chucks on our feet, we took a stroll through Pullen Park which is right on NC State campus. From the pictures it looks like it was warm, huh? And yes my friend, you would be correct. NC has been experiencing the oddest weather lately with most days in the 60’s and 70’s, no rain and no need for a coat. Odd indeed, but I won’t complain. Just wish I hadn’t spent so much time putting away my spring and summer clothes and taking out my fall winter clothes. One day you need a coat and the next…well, who knows what’s to come.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, let the Cyber Monday madness begin. I’ll be chatting about my Black Friday purchases on the blog soon.

Sincerely,

Deidra Marie
