GAME DAY

Fired up and ready to go

It was a sad sad night as Cam Newton and team walked off the field after losing to the Broncos. I knew it was over after the 3rd quarter, but we celebrated in style with some delicious healthy snacks and a warm fire. While my Panthers lost,  I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the half-time performance (Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Bey) definitely a great distraction from the disappointing score resting at the bottom of the screen. And while i’m not shocked by her red glitter shadow, shiny red blazer and matching pants, lady Gaga’s national anthem performance was absolutely amazing.

I was so glad Charlie lit a fire because our living room can get a bit chilly. In addition to the healthy nibbles, we had veggie spaghetti and veggie lasagna and now have plenty of leftovers; I shall snack on carrots and humus for a few days.

We completed the night with a few vanilla and chocolate protein shakes, a dimmed fire ,and a sad and disappointed Cam Newton. While he is easy on the eyes, it broke my heart to see him leave the field defeated.
Here’s to a good season and much luck for a Superbowl win next year.
Hope you guys enjoyed the game day festivities and commercials.
Till next time.
Sincerely,
Deidra Marie

WIND IN HAIR AND BOARDWALKS

I had so much fun this long weekend; MLK day was spent enjoying the very cool air and some much needed sun and breeze. It was cold but to be close to a beach made the goosebumps go away. Charlie and I spent the day exploring the downtown Wilmington area, watching the MLK parade from afar and snapping some cool shots in random areas all across town. To smell fresh seasalt water and be in the sun was enough for me. We spent a lot of time gazing about the boardwalk, chatting about the future and enjoying the quiet. An hour or so later, with chapped lips, dry elbows and grumbly tummies, we were ready to get some good ol fashion seafood and hit the road back to Raleigh to be in our bed induldging in to much Hulu and Netflix . This was the first boardwalk of 2016 and hoping to see many more come April or May.
I do hope everybody enjoyed the extra day off. May you stay warm, enjoy lots of hot coco and watch to much Netflix before work the next day. 😉
Till next time.
Sincerely,
Deidra Marie

We came, we saw, we conquered… and then I took my hips to bed

I’d like to say I spent my new years snuggled up in my warm bed with a cup of hot coco, marshmallows and Netflix but that would be a lie because why would I do that nonsense when my best friend was in town!
Naturally, we picked up right where we left off, finishing each others sentences, acting irresponsibly, talking about the good ol times and of course annoying the heck out of Charlie with our excessive talking and cheesy jokes.
We hit up the downtown scene for some oh so good Sushi (Charlie’s least favorite cuisine) Ha! After dinner it was off to explore the Raleigh streets; and by that I mean stand in the middle of them and take random pictures on railroad tracks. Why? Because we can! And because pedestrians have the right-away! Smh.

200 photos later, we headed to the Mosaic lounge for water with lime on the rocks; on me of course. Racked up a pretty heavy tab, got to bring in the New Year with style. It pays to have friends in high places. 🙂

Happy New Years everyone!

Till next time.
